What to record before a Monoglass repair
A useful repair enquiry shows both the damaged material and the conditions around it. Record the problem before cleaning, painting or covering it, so the cause can be assessed without losing evidence.
Map the condition
Take an overview of the room, a medium view of the affected area and a close view with a scale reference. Label each image with a room or drawing reference. Note whether the issue is staining, missing material, separation, impact damage or an appearance concern; these are observations, not a diagnosis.
Investigate the cause
Explain when the damage appeared and whether leaks, equipment movement or recent trade work occurred nearby. Ask the appropriate project professional to investigate active moisture or substrate problems before a repair is specified. Replacing the visible finish alone may leave the reason for the damage unresolved.
Agree the repair boundary
Ask the contractor to identify the proposed preparation, compatible repair material, affected extent and appearance expectations. Confirm which records or inspections are needed, especially where the work forms part of a specified assembly. Keep before-and-after photographs linked to the repair location.
Keep with your project brief
- Condition map and dated photographs
- History of nearby work or leaks
- Written repair scope and acceptance record
